After its incredible success at the Le Mans Centenary in June 2023, the Ferrari 499P now comes in the hands of customers, under the name of Ferrari 499P Modificata. In a strictly limited $5.4M series, of course, and a max power output of 859 HP.

Reinforcing the Corse Clienti experience
The Le Mans-winning 499P’s track-only customer version, unbound by strict FIA WEC Hypercar technical regulations, unleashes creative freedom for engineers to optimize performance.
A standout modification is the hybrid system’s unique feature, “Push to Pass”, enabling an extra 120 kW for overtaking at low speeds. Beyond the exhilarating boost, Ferrari engineers recalibrated suspensions, engine, and controllers to cater to diverse driving styles.

Maintaining the single-seater layout akin to an endurance prototype, the cabin exudes a luxurious spaceship-like feel, offering customers the exclusive opportunity to pilot a Le Mans winner.
The Ferrari 499P Modificata is even more powerful
Drawing inspiration from the 499P, the Modificata shares the same powertrain: the hybrid, mid-rear mounted V6 engine with an electric motor on the front axle. With a “Push to Pass” feature, the Modificata’s power has been boosted from 500 kW (670 HP) to a remarkable 640 kW (859 HP), surpassing its racing counterpart due to the absence of regulations. The V6 engine, sourced from the 296 GT3, serves as a load-bearing component, integrated into the structure of the 499P (Modificata), in contrast to the 296.

The electric motor mirrors that of the Le Mans-winning 499P, a 200 kW (268 HP) machine equipped with a differential and an Energy Recovery System (ERS) for recharging batteries.
Keeping the chassis and dynamics recipe
The 499P Modificata, characterized by an all carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, boasts advanced features like push-rod suspension and a brake-by-wire system for energy recovery in the electric front axle during braking.
Precision is the focus in its mechanical setup, with centrally-mounted shock absorbers and springs, anti-roll bars, and finely-tuned engine and driveability maps. Unbound by FIA WEC regulations, engineers introduced new features, including the activation of the front axle at low speeds, enhancing performance and driveability. This allows drivers to leverage extra grip from the front wheels, optimizing torque distribution.

The result is a car that aids drivers in finding optimal racing lines, especially coming out of turns. The driver-controlled system provides bursts of extra power for up to 7 seconds per activation, strategically managed based on track type and battery energy balance. This elevates the 499P Modificata to a level of extraordinary performance, perhaps more than the original 499P.
The new programme: Sport Prototipi Clienti joins F1 Clienti
Starting in 2024, the Ferrari Corse Clienti department is set to roll out the “Sport Prototipi Clienti” program. This initiative ensures that owners of the 499P Modificata, can access comprehensive support from Ferrari, covering maintenance and assistance — both technical and logistical — for all Ferrari exclusive track events.
The Ferrari 499P Modificata price
With a price tag of approximately $5.4 million (€5.1 million, £4.4 million, CHF4.9 million), information regarding the number of units produced remains undisclosed.
