“Retromobile week” approaching, all the auction houses prepare their lots for one of the biggest classic car event in Europe, taking place in Paris. Amongst the incredible cars RM Sotheby’s has to offer, one catched our eye: an ultra-rare Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. Text: Luca W. Images: RM Sotheby’s ©
Usually, we are interested in older/classic machines but this one is kind of special (Chassis No.: ZHWEB3ZD5FLA03002). This car is the second leaving the factory out of nine, following the 4 priorly produced coupés. By any stretch of imagination, we do not expect it to go for small bids. As it is roughly estimated at €5,000,000. Considering the two previous owners (including a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family), the car is new: only 450 km.

Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, the Veneno is basically an Aventador with a design pushed to its limits. Just to increase downforce and wildness. Except it develops 750HP (50 more than its sibling) and is 50 kg heavier than the Veneno “Coupé”. The performance sheet of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is similar to an Aventador but insane to drive.
Back in 2013, we were convinced the Lamborghini Veneno was going to be a collector’s car. Even a “classic”, mainly due to its price: €3,500,000. Now, it should wost about €1,500,000 more, wether €250,000 per year. What an investment.
