Old but gold. Isn’t that what they say? One of the best, if not the best series finale of the old Top Gear, back when Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were still on BBC2, and before they went on The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime. To me, it was more than just a good series finale. If I had to keep only one Top Gear extract, it would be this one. That’s the one which started it all. Everything is perfect with this car, but even more, everything is perfect in this video. The scenery, the roads, the music: Brian Eno’s magnificent An Ending, the very small talking of Jeremy Clarkson. And then, this video as well makes us think of what we will really want for cars, as petrolheads, and the automotive future ahead. I couldn’t agree more with Clarkson’s view that this was an ending for an era of cars we loved and cherished.
