McLaren, since the MP4/12C, has always revealed a car per year. All of them of course have the McLaren name in common but they do have something else: innovation. The next car obviously fits in this trend, with a new hybrid powertrain and of course, a name: Artura. Text: Luca W. © Images: McLaren Automotive ©

The McLaren Artura is a High-Performance Hybrid (HPH) car, fitted with an all new twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Knowing McLaren’s expertise with hybrid vehicles, particulary with the P1, we are sure that the Artura will be a great (hybrid) car.

“Every element of the Artura is all-new – from the platform architecture and every part of the High-Performance Hybrid powertrain, to the exterior body, interior and cutting-edge driver interface – but it draws on decades of McLaren experience in pioneering super-lightweight race and road car technologies to bring all of our expertise in electrification to the supercar class.

Mike Flewitt, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Automotive

Of course, the Artura will be able to run on electric power alone for everyday emission-free urban journeys. For a supercar that will be on public roads in Spring 2021, this is an asset. Built from an all-new platform which is optimized for electrification.

Except this, McLaren Automotive will be back with more information about their hybrid supercar in the coming months.
